Colabora.dk - brugergruppe møde d. 29 juni

Det første møde i colabora.dk er nu planlagt til d. 29. juni kl. 14-17 i Ballerup, hos GN Store Nord som har lagt lokaler til.

Agendaen bliver en kort snak om mål/formål med Colabora og herefter en præsentation af de vigtigste nyheder i Communications Server ‘14′ efterfulgt af en mindre gennemgang af nyhederne i Exchange 2010 SP1 begge specifikt rettet mod hvad vi kan bruge det til på det danske marked.

Exchange 2010 SP1 beta er blevet annonceret i forbindelse med TechEd North America i denne uge.

Den kommer jo til at indeholde en masse fede og ventede features som:

Dansk UC Brugergruppe

Nu har danmarks første Microsoft UC brugergruppe har set dagens lyd. Colabora.dk er lanceret og målet er at skabe en aktiv bruger gruppe for IT administratorer og konsulenter, som arbejder med Microsoft Unified Communications teknologier som Communication Server og Exchange. Der vil blive afholdt møder fra tid til anden (offline eller virtuelt), samt løbende vil der blive udgivet artikler og nyhedsbreve om Microsoft UC teknologier.

Gruppen er lanceret af Dennis Lundtoft Thomsen og undertegnede.

Dem af jer som arbejder med hosting kender sikkert allerede DotNetPanel. Det var/er et af de bedste .NET baserede Control Panels til at styre IIS, Exchange, SharePoint og Hyper-V hosting med.

DotNetPanel firmaet bag, har nu besluttet at udgive det hele som open source under WebsitePanel, dvs. der kræves ingen licens mere og produktet er i sin gratis version helt uden begrænsninger.

Dette produkt er suverænt, ikke kun til hosting, men også til general administration af specifikke miljøer.

WebsitePanel supportere en hel del forskelligt software, som alt sammen kan styres fra dette web baserede Control Panel: WebsitePanel

Har fundet et kanon PowerShell script til automatisere installationen af Exchange 2010 pre-requirements.

IIS og mulighederne for udvidelser

Samme med Windows Server 2008 lancerede Microsoft en helt nyt version af deres webserver Internet Information Services (IIS) i ver. 7.0.

Fordelen ved IIS 7.0 er at den er modul opbygget som vi bla. kender det fra konkurrende webservere som Apache.

At IIS 7.0 er modul opbygget gør at den er en mere fleksisbel og sikker web playform. Angrebsfladen er minimeret, eftersom at det hele er komponent og modul opbygget og man derfor kun installere og aktivere det som man har brug for.

Det er også med til at give platformen forbedret perfomance for web applikationer der kører alt lige fra “classic” ASP, ASP.NET og PHP.

IIS 7.0 kan udvides med såkaldte extensions, hvilket igen er en af fordelene ved at arkitekturen er modul opbygget.

Forskellen på IIS 7.0 som er i Windows 2008 og IIS 7.5 som er en del af Windows 7 og Windows Server 2008 R2, er at mange at nedenstående extensions er inkluderet i OS.

Men ellers kan de hentes og installeres...

Content Publishing

FTP Publishing Service
	FTP Publishing Service er den nyeste FTP server generation, af nye features kan nævnes FTP-S (SSL), samt bedre integration med IIS.

WebDAV Extension
	WebDAV extension giver mulighed for at uploade content til et website på en fleksibel måde, forbindelse kan etableres vha. SSL. WebDAV er nu blevet integreret i IIS og det enkelte website på en mere effektiv og sikker måde.

Deployment and Migration

Web Deployment Tool

Microsoft Web Deployment Tool (msdeploy) er et længe ventet værktøj som virker
på både IIS 6.0 og IIS 7.0. Men Web Deployment Tool kan man effektivt og nemt styre
ens deployment af website og web content. Værktøjet kan også håndtere migrering fra:
- IIS 6.0 –> IIS 6.0
- IIS 6.0 –> IIS 7.0
- IIS 7.0 –> IIS 7.0
Af features kan nævnes:
- deployment
- sync content, configuration and SSL
- migration support

Media Serving

Bit Rate Throttling
	The Bit Rate Throttling module has compelling features for media and data delivery. For many scenarios, this feature will reduce bandwidth costs while increasing per-server capacity for concurrent download connections.

Web Playlists
	Web Playlists is an IIS 7.0 Extension that provides developers and hosters unprecedented control of how media content is delivered to users. Personalize content, prevent ad skipping, and monetize your assets.

Windows Media Services 2008
	Windows Media Services 2008 is an industrial-strength platform for streaming live or on-demand audio and video content to clients over the Internet or a private network. Whether you are streaming content to millions of simultaneous users via a CDN, or to thousands of workers in your company, Windows Media Services provides the reliability, scalability, and affordability you need.

Application Hosting

FastCGI for IIS 6
	The FastCGI Extension for IIS 6.0 enables popular application frameworks that support FastCGI protocol to be hosted on the IIS web server in a high-performance and reliable way. FastCGI provides a high-performance alternative to the Common Gateway Interface (CGI), which has been supported by IIS since it's first release.

Request Handling

URL Rewrite Module
	URL rewrite module provides a rule-based rewriting mechanism for changing request URL's before they get processed by web server. The module can be used to express URL rewriting logic that can use regular expressions or wildcards and can make rewriting decisions based on HTTP headers and server variables.

Application Request Routing - RC
	Microsoft Application Request Routing for IIS7 is a proxy based routing module that forwards HTTP requests to content servers based on HTTP headers and server variables, and load balance algorithms.

Server Management

Administration Pack
	The IIS 7.0 Administration Pack adds to the set of management features that ship with IIS 7.0 to include Administration UI support for ASP.NET authorization, custom errors, FastCGI configuration, Request Filtering and much more.

Database Manager
	Database Manager allows you to easily manage your local and remote databases from within IIS Manager. Database Manager automatically discovers databases based on a Web server or application's configuration and also provides the ability to connect to any database on the network.

IIS Manager for Remote Administration
	The new remote administration tool for IIS 7.0 provides end users and administrators with a way to remotely manage IIS 7.0 servers from Windows Vista, Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. The tool provides administrators and users with a familiar user interface to manage and configure their servers.

PowerShell Provider
	The IIS 7.0 PowerShell Provider is a PowerShell Snap-In that allows you to manage IIS7 configuration and run-time data. It gives easy access to Web-Sites, Application Pools, Web Applications, Virtual Directories, request in flight, Worker Processes and .NET Application Domains within Worker Processes.

Security

UrlScan 3.1
	UrlScan version 3.1 is a security tool that restricts the types of HTTP requests that Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0 will process. UrlScan screens all incoming requests to the server by filtering the requests based on rules that are set by the administrator. Filtering requests helps secure the server by ensuring that only valid requests are processed.

Nyhederne i Exchange 2010 SP1

Så er der endelig kommet nyt om SP1 til Exchange 2010 fra Exchange teamet.

Nu kan arkiv postkasse endelig flyttes til en anden database, som så kan ligge på noget andet storage, som et "normalt" arkiveringssystem. Samt support for Online Archive i Outlook 2007

Overordnet er der annonceret nyheder i følgende områder:

Her til aften er Exchange 2010 code complete og dermed RTM (Release To Manufactoring) og klar til GA (General Availability) i november.

Der vil være en masse om Exchange 2010 på TechEd i Berlin i starten af november:

Platformen er baseret på Windows Live Hotmail og servicen hedder: Windows Live Admin Center.

Her er en oversigt over hvad du får, hvis du opretter dit eget domain:

I nedenstående vil jeg beskrive hvordan man opretter sit eget domain under Windows Live Admin Center.

Vejledning - “Get started”:

1. Gå til http://domains.live.com og vælg Get Started:

3. Vælg sign in with an existing Windows Live ID, som du ønsker at bruge til administration af dit domain i Windows Live Admin Center og vælg til sidst Continue:

4. Bekræft domainet og den account du vil bruge til administration og vælg I Accept:

5. Efter login, ses konfigurations siderne for domainet og du skal nu konfigurere DNS som beskrevet i nedenstående, for at kunne forsætte med konfigurationen:

DNS records skal oprettes hos din DNS udbyder, hvis domænet er købt hos GratisDNS, ligger DNS 99,99% sikkert også her.

5.1 DNS: Opret følgende MX record:

- Nødvendig for at kunne logge på Microsoft Messenger, med de accounts som du får oprettet under dit domain.

Microsoft Security Intelligence Report – vol. 5

For dem der er interesseret i sikkerhed, har Microsoft netop udgivet den seneste udgave (vol. 5) af Microsoft Security Intelligence Report. Det er en lille rapport på 150 sider der dækker alt omkring trusler og trends.

Oplysningerne i rapporten er bl.a. baseret på indsamlede oplysninger fra hundredvis af computere over hele verden.
